Kettle Moraine Geological Society is happy to welcome Dr. Sue Swanson to our Science Festival event. Dr. Swanson will be giving our attendees a lecture titled, An overview of the geology of Wisconsin. Here is a small description of the lecture to entice our fellow rockhounds.

Wisconsin’s geological history includes volcanoes, oceans, and glaciers. This talk will explore Wisconsin’s geologic past, from billions of years ago to the Ice Age and beyond. It will explain Wisconsin’s modern landscapes and highlight the current work of WGNHS scientists

We are planning to host the lecture virtually but we highly suggest everyone come out and talk with our knowledgeable club members. For more information about Dr. Swanson, please visit: https://badgertalks.wisc.edu/speaker/sue-swanson/

Kettle Moraine Geological Society is thrilled to participate in this year's Wisconsin's Science Week.

The KMGS (Kettle Moraine Geological Society) Club is happy to present two days of fun and education revolving around Earth Science. Come experience a condensed version of our annual show hosted by our club members who travel and collect various specimens from all over the world. Each member will feature a station dedicated to the wonder of geology that includes petrified wood specimens, a fluorescent rock exhibit, various fossils, or a detailed exhibit on the wonderful geology Wisconsin has to offer, which sets it apart from the rest of the world. Our club thinks you will come because you are curious, but you will leave with a new passion for rocks.
